We work closely with the customer to develop the technical specifications for a project. Once the requirements are agreed to, LPI will provide a detailed proposal for the project. If there is uncertainty as to the best design approach (“optical feasibility”), a study will be recommended. In such study some preliminary design work will be done, to test the potential of all optical concepts proposed. The feasibility study is a way to minimize risks for the customers and be able to conduct all resources in the optimal ways. The money invested in this phase is never a loss, since the design phase will typically come with a cost cut that deals with the preliminary design work done in the feasibility study.
