Our Facilities
LPI, LLC and its subsidiaries are prepared to answer the customer’s needs in North America, Europe or Asia. Whether the need can be answered by a generic optic in the field of Solid State Illumination or a customized solution in Concentrated Photovoltaics, LPI’s world-class design teams can apply their knowledge and experience seamlessly around the world. Expertise in specialty areas can be called upon from wherever the best team member for the task can contribute to the best solution.
Once the optical solution has been applied, LPI’s prototyping team can directly cut the resulting optic from the selected polymer or fabricate a soft mold and inject prototypical parts that can be photometrically measured to ascertain expected performance before beginning mass production.
If the customer so chooses, LPI Precision Optics can fabricate production tooling and vetted injection partners can produce the optical parts with LPI involvement up until the acceptance of the first article. In this way, LPI works as a one-stop resource for its customers’ needs.
LPI-Precision Optics (Manufacturing Center)LPI Precision Optics Ltd. (LPIPO) is the prototyping and manufacturing arm of LPI. Located in the world class Hong Kong Science Park, LPIPO is equipped with the most sophisticated ultra-precision equipment for prototyping & mould insert fabrication including a 5-Axis Nanotech 350FG (Freeform Generator) Diamond Turning Machine and a Panasonic MG-ED82W Micro EDM Machine 
And LPIPO has performed a significant number of projects in fabrication of freeform optical surfaces. The facility maintains Process Quality Control utilizing state-of-the-art metrology and photometry equipment such as a Zygo GPI Interferometer System, a FRT MicroProf 200 non-contact type Profilometer and a Nomarski Microscope. Their Photometric Measurement Lab includes a NewView 6300 High-Performance 3D Optical Profiling System and a Metris LK Integra Precision Co-ordinate Measuring Machine and are acquiring a Form Talysurf PGI 1250A in 2008. LPIPO also offers mass production quantity optical parts through our precision injection molding & vacuum coating facilities in China.
