LPI, LLC and its subsidiaries are prepared to answer the customer’s needs in North America, Europe or Asia.  Whether the need can be answered  by a generic optic in the field of Solid State Illumination or a customized solution in Concentrated Photovoltaics, LPI’s world-class design teams can apply their knowledge and experience seamlessly around the world.  Expertise in specialty areas can be called upon from wherever the best team member for the task can contribute to the best solution.

Once the optical solution has been applied, LPI’s prototyping team can directly cut the resulting optic from the selected polymer or fabricate a soft mold and inject prototypical parts that can be photometrically measured to ascertain expected performance before beginning mass production.

If the customer so chooses, LPI Precision Optics can fabricate production tooling and vetted injection partners can produce the optical parts with LPI involvement up until the acceptance of the first article. In this way, LPI works as a one-stop resource for its customers’ needs.

LPI, LLC (Corporate Offices, USA)

Founded in 1999, Light Prescriptions Innovators (LPI) is making a positive difference in saving energy. The corporate offices are located in Southern California in the United States. This also is one of the two design centers. The company focuses on two main areas of the field of nonimaging optics: Solid State Lighting and Concentrated Photovoltaics. The design center employs the latest and best principles in both nonimaging and imaging optic the fields.

Applications of the LPI IP portfolio include interior and exterior automotive lighting, general, medical and architectural illumination, as well as portable, landscape, street lighting and backlighting. Imaging solutions include image projection.

The Office

The staff at LPI has over fifty years of cumulative solar experience and world leading technologists in the field of Concentrated Photovoltaics. Our patents cover design methods in medium CPV combining Fresnel primary optics with reflective and refractive secondary optics the result in concentrations of 500 suns. Our patents include numerous design architectures for High Concentration Photovoltaics (HCPV) capable of concentrations between 1,000 and 2,000 suns. While concentration is important, our designs also perform with high acceptance angles which allows for easier factory assembly more economic tracking technologies.

Ten members of our technical staff and associates hold PhD's and are active contributors to major optical conferences such as SPIE and OSA. They have served as chairpersons and speakers, and have authored many technical papers. A number of our staff have written books on optics and related subjects, and continue to publish works in the field of nonimaging optics. To support projects in North America, Europe and Asia, LPI maintains two world-class research and development optical groups. One is in the US in Altadena, California and the other in Europe in Madrid, Spain.
